Pediatric Intensive Care Unit The
eight-bed, Level II Pediatric Intensive Care Unit is specially equipped
for pediatric trauma patients, including isolation rooms with special
ventilation. The PICU at Lafayette General has the distinct advantage
of being a part of a full-service hospital, so specialists like
orthopedists and neurologists are always on-hand for emergencies.
PICU
nurses are the top in their field, with specialized education and
ongoing training. Our nursing staff excels in balancing family
involvement and visitation with providing a safe environment.
Pediatric Imaging LGMC
radiologists and radiologic technicians are experienced in pediatric
imaging—offering conscious sedation for MRI and CT scans in-house. In
an emergency, this service is invaluable to physicians for quick and
accurate diagnoses.
Pediatric Care Treatment Area
Our regular ER staff is
certified to treat pediatric patients, and will continue to do so with
a high level of expertise. However, LGMC has expanded pediatric care
