Brooke Doucet, RN Bariatric Program Manager Brooke is a Registered Nurse. She earned her Bachelor of Nursing in 2000 from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her main responsibility at LGMC is to manage the bariatric program. She assists patients with all aspects of their bariatric care. She navigates patients through their hospital experience, ensuring excellent care pre-op, intra-op and post-op. She also coordinates pre and post operative education and organizes the weight loss surgery support group. Brooke first began working with the bariatric population 6 years ago as a weight loss surgery coordinator. Brooke finds her work very rewarding and enjoys watching the transformation of her patients post-operatively. We are glad to have her on our team at LGMC.
Amber Faul, RD, LDN Registered Dietitian (as well as a licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist with the state of Louisiana) Amber plays a vital role on the team by working with our weight loss surgery patients on proper diet both before and after surgery. She has worked with bariatric surgery patients since 2004 in her undergraduate internship through University of Louisiana at Lafayette. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2005 and completed a postgraduate dietetic internship at Louisiana Tech University in 2006. She has been an employee of LGMC since 2007.
Julie Marks MS, CEP Licensed Clinical Exercise Physiologist Julie is responsible for counseling bariatric surgery patients on their exercise programming before and following their weight loss surgery. She attained her Masters Degree in Exercise Physiology from The University of Houston in 1991. Achieved Exercise Test Technologist and Clinical Exercise Specialist certifications through the American College of Sports Medicine. Currently licensed by the LA State Board of Medical Examiners. Experienced in all phases of Cardiac Rehabilitation, exercise prescription for special populations, wellness programs and water therapy, and AFAA certified aerobics instructor.
Rhonda Hebert, BS, CLC Behavior Modification Educator Rhonda has been employed by Lafayette General Medical Center for the last 20 years. She is a vital part of our multidisciplinary team and sees patients both before and after surgery. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana in 1990 in the study of Nutrition and Dietetics. Her current certifications include: The American Institute for Preventive Medicine Program Instructor Certification and the American Association of Lifestyle Counselors Certification. She was awarded the Heart of Goal Award from LGMC in August of 2005.
Marissa Knight
Bariatric Office Coordinator
Marissa receieved her bachelor's degree from Univeristy of Lousisana at Lafayette in 2009 in General Studies, with a concentration in behavioral sceinces. Her responbilities include answering phone calls, scheduling patients for seminars, scheduling patient appointments with the bariatric team, office organzation and working with the team in assisting in various departmental duties. We are proud to have Marissa on our bariatric team at LGMC!
Patti Navarre Financial Counselor Patti works specifically with our bariatric patients. She works with the weight loss surgery patients to explain insurance coverage and the self-pay options offered by the hospital. Patti also meets with the patients that want to apply for Care Credit to finance their procedure. She has worked at LGMC since 1986. |
